The month of August kept us in Hawaii. The annual AAED meeting at the Orchid Fairmont took us to Kona on the Big Island. Dr. Ron Goldstein is always so gracious to invite us to the meeting and to be his guest at his table at the black tie dinner. To my surprise, Byoung In Suh, Bisco President, showed up at the tennis courts and ran me off the court in 2 straight sets. The AAED meeting continues to be a world class experience. Our friends Jean Claude and Annie from Paris come to Maui every August. We recently stayed at the Lodge at Koele because of its elegant southern plantation feeling. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Brad Johnson this past year in the LMC: AEGD program. Brad is now a maxillo-oral surgery resident in Florida.

It seems like summer time is travel time professionally and socially. Our family friend's son, Brad Akitake, invited us to a lavish wedding affair in Seattle in July. Friends from the mainland and Hawaii helped the newly weds celebrate this happy occasion. I start to feel old when our friends' children are getting married!

With our kids living in San Francisco and Boston, we make it a point to visit them in their territories. Carmel, CA is one of my favorite places to relax, enjoy great dining and savor fine wines. The kids also like to come home to Maui, the Best Island in the World, to relax with friends and family.

| May 15, 2005 |
April and May were busy months traveling to Tokyo for the Japan Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry meeting, then flying directly to Chicago's O'hare on the way to Nashville for the annual AACD meeting. As expected, the AACD meeting was full of hands-on courses and world class dental educators. The daily evening social events were spectacular.
